Patrick Pruitt - Founder of the company and developer of many of the items that are available thru Custom Steel. 

Born on Janurary 25, 1973 and started life as a humble little tyke (see photo on right).  Spent most of my youth on the Rez doing things little indian kids do. Went to High School at St Catherines Indian School in Santa Fe New Mexico, but found the dicipline of catholic shcool a little too much for me. I finally finished at West Mesa High, in Albuquerque.  During my youth, I was fortunate to train as a silversmith under two great teachers, Greg Lewis and Charlie Bird, both accomplished jewelrs in their own right.

After that, I moved down to Dallas, Texas and began my career as a college student. At that time I also discovered body modificaiton and began piercing myself. I was fortunate enough to meet up with Allen Falkner and Jason Hill, both piercing enthusiasts at the time. Allen had just started Obscurities and continues to this day with one of the finest studios in Dallas.

I studied mechanical engineering while attending SMU and gained the knowledge of the machining trade, combined with the past jewelry experience and the lack of money for jewerly in the day, begain to make my own stuff. Somehow studios in the area found out and wolah! Custom Steel was born, this was 91' ish.

After catering to the local Texas crowd, I figured it was time to get serious, dropped out of school, maxed my credit cards, bought some equipment, material and there I was, in debt and in business...man, Ive come a long way since then.

Now a days, we offer one of the most unique product lines, along with the reputation to tackle almost anyting custom in the body modificaiton scene.  As for me, I still manufacture jewerly, trying to develop new products, and maintaining the company as a whole.

I will be developing my section as a little site within its self to better clue you in to who I am and my endeavours of Custom Steel and others areas not related to the jewerly scene.
